Klebnikov

Paul Klebnikov (June 31963 – July 92004) was an American journalist of Russian descent. His murder in Moscowwas seen as a blow against investigative journalism in Russia.
He wrote Godfather of the Kremlin: The Decline of Russia in the Age of Gangster Capitalism (Forbes, September 2000), a biography of the Russian tycoon Boris Berezovsky. Berezovsky was openly critical of Klebnikov's writings, particularly an article published in Forbes in 1996 about his alleged criminal activities for which he filed a libel suit, and Forbes was forced to retract the allegations. In 2003 Klebnikov published his second book Conversation with a Barbarian: Interviews with a Chechen Field Commander on Banditry and Islam, in which Klebnikov provides the transcript of his 15 hour conversation with a Chechen crime lord, politician and guerilla commander Khozh-Ahmed Noukhaev; the book focused on the organized crime in Chechnya.
